DVHL championship trophy
Every DVHL season ends with one team lifting it. It was built from shells fired from a Navy destroyer’s gun, donated by teammates, and dedicated to the service, sacrifice and healing of the veterans who play for it.
What it is made of
The league commissioned the trophy and it was presented at the armory on January 8, 2023. The materials were donated by teammates.
Fired from a Mark 45 gun aboard the destroyer USS Barry (DDG-52).
A 105 mm round added to the build, a ceremonial one.
The casings are about six inches across. After the second title game the trophy came apart, and it was taken apart for repairs in December 2023.
